Ray Davis Wins Badugi WCOOP
Congrats to the well known poker personality Ray Davis on becoming the first Badugi WCOOP Champion at PokerStars
A total of 376 players took part in the $320 buy-in tournament with quite a few well known players including Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Gavin Griffin, Vanessa Rousso and many more high stakes regulars.
Ray Davis is a well known poker player on the circuit and is no stranger to big wins including a six-figure score in the $50k HORSE and the 2007 WPT Five Diamond at the Bellagio.
The final table was hosted by a good humoured Barry Greenstein who relentlessly needled his good friend Ray Davis at one point writing ”Normally I would congratulate all of you, but you’re behind Raymond Davis, which is quite embarrassing” and then later ”I have to root for you Raymond. No one else owes me money.” But Ray was not to be detered and eventually overcome a tough final table to claim his first WCOOP bracelet.
In the end, Ray played bobsmith166 heads-up for the title. The had two agreed to an even chop, but still played heads-up for 1 hour 30 mins before Davis managed to knock out his foe, taking both the WCOOP title and nearly $20k to go along with it.
Final Table Results:
1. Raymond “raydavis77″ Davis - $19,912
2. bobsmith166 - $17,312
3. goleafsgo41 - $11,844
